So maybe Broadway is not your style? However fun Broadway might be… the wet bathrooms, crowded streets, and people vomiting on the sidewalk get old after a bit. When the Photo Walk team heads downtown, we hit all the off-Broadway Nashville rooftop bars. Classy cocktails + panoramic view = our kinda happy hour. So here’s our list of Nashville’s top rooftop bars off Broadway in town.
This rooftop on the Thompson Hotel is in the Gulch. The vibes are absolutely insane and the location makes it feel super boujee. We love it for a casual happy hour or DJ dance night. There are so many little spots to bar hop, shop, and eat in the area. Check out Morgo Goes’s neighborhood guide to the Gulch here!
INSIDER TIP: They do not take reservations so make sure to get there about an hour before sunset for the best chance at the best views!
White Limozeen is on top of the Graduate Hotel, in Midtown and new in 2020! This Dolly Parton inspired hotel is essentially Beverly Hill Hotel meets the South. All pink everything both inside at the bar and out on the pool deck/bar patio! You can rent tickets for the pool in the summer for hour slots for the public and open for guests use! Definitely make reservations ahead of time here!
On the Noelle Hotel rooftop is Rare Bird. The bar is decked out in the most beautiful benches next to concrete fireplaces. You can smell fresh chopped wood in the fall time when they have them going. It feels super classy which is perfect for a sunset happy hour! They are temporarily closed but check their Instagram for updates on their planned reopening.
On top of the Westin downtown is L27. This place is iconic for their rooftop pool, where you can look at downtown from underwater! The pool is for guests only but head up the spiral staircase to the second level of the bar to enjoy the view. You can rent these cabanas or grab a table inside as well.
The Pool Club is on top of the Virgin Hotel’s rooftop in Midtown. The inside portion of the bar is deck out with hanging plants and it has an intimate vibe to the small space. Try the cocktail with sparkles or the old fashioned with a photo of Dolly Parton in the ice! Cabanas are available for rent so head to their website for all info on that! During the winter times, enjoy their apres ski experience called “The Lodge” complete with clothing pop ups, heaters, and insane views.
Some other bars on our bucket list to check out in 2021 are LouNa on the rooftop of the Grand Hyatt and Denim on the rooftop of the Joseph. Most bars are 21+ only. Expect your ID to be checked no matter what. Even the grandmothers still get carded. That is another hot tip for Nashville. You will not be allowed into bars without some form of ID so come prepared! They are all pricey and that is unfortunately the new Nashville. Be prepared to pay about $12-20 for a cocktail. And make sure to tip your bartenders accordingly! These places are some of our favorite places in the city.
